David Knaus Memorial Scholarship
Now $3000!

Congratulations to
Gabrielle Nelsen, KC9UVL
2022 Recipient

The recipient of the $3000 WARAC David Knaus Memorial Scholarship for 2022 was announced in June by the ARRL Foundation and she is Gabrielle Nelsen, KC9UVL, of Hudson, Wisconsin.

Gabrielle sent us the following note after her award was announced:

My name is Gabrielle Nelsen and I will be finishing out my time at Concordia University-Wisconsin this fall. I am studying K-12 Special Education, with a minor in Director of Church Ministries. This final semester will be student teaching, so I will have the opportunity to be in an elementary/middle school, as well as a high school resource room. I am a member of the St. Croix Valley Radio Amateur Club, as well as ARRL, and have participated in SkyWarn classes and field days. Thank you so much for your generosity and providing me with this opportunity to continue my education!

Thank you so much!
~Gabrielle, KC9UVL

How to Apply
for the David Knaus Memorial Scholarship

The West Allis Radio Amateur Club has awarded over $66,000 in Scholarships to qualified radio amateurs since 1988. One WARAC David Knaus Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually and in 2022 the amount was increased to $3000. See list of past recipients below.

These scholarships are funded largely by an endowment established by WARAC for this purpose. Also, proceeds from donated equipment sales are used to further support the scholarship program. Our Scholarship Chairman or other club officers may be contacted at any time regarding tax-deductible donations.
