Short contest time is good idea - concentrates activity nicely - K1BV
Shortly after going to 20 meters a little over an hour into the test, my CQ
was answered by WQ7L in UT. This caught my attention, because last year, via
the internet, I located a childhood friend, now living in OR and holding the
call WQ7R. 2 QSOs later, WQ7R called me! It was quite possibly the first
time I've worked Ray since the early 60's - WW1M
Great contest! Good band conditions for a change. Heard many stations on
40 CW. 73 C U agn next year - WA2BQI
Without a doubt this was one of the best WI QSO Parties - keep up the good
work - AE2N
I really like this kind of short contest. Had a ball chasing the counties.
Picked up 15 new counties. Thanks for all the contacts, see everyone next
year - WB3AAL
Thanks to all the WI stations who helped me increase my score by almost 4500
points from last year. A big thank you to all the mobiles the year. You guys
were out in force! Thanks for the new counties and multipliers. Hope to see
you all next year and also in the PA QSO party in October - KB3AFT
It was a fun contest as usual. Imagine my surprise and delight when DJ7AA
called me on 80 CW! I look forward to the Party in 1997 - K3GGN
Missed last years test due to college...glad I could make it this year.
Great time !!!!! - WA3HAE
Thanks for another great weekend. Glad to hear so many mobiles on the bands.
Hope to try 160M next time. See all of you next year - N3RJ
Another great contest. Again you are to be commended for having one of the
best State QSO parties going. I worked virtually everyone I heard, and most
on 3 calls or less. I get nothing but enjoyment from the contest. Please
list my call as /QRP. That way other QRPers will be encouraged to give QRP
a try - K3WWP/QRP
Great contest - AC4HI
Nice contest. Happy to hear so many WI stations in just 4 hours. 100W output
into a dipole at 45 feet. I used NA9 contest template to score the contest.
As you can see the program doesn't load the mults correctly. So I just have
to write them in above - KN4QV
Hats off to West Allis RAC - good turnout - good ops - enjoyed party - late
start - 5 hours - but good fun - W4SNH
Second time I've entered this QSO party. Unfortunately missed some of the
beginning of the party due to a dinner engagement after church. But
conditions were good with strong signals down our way. Wish more mobiles
would operate CW - K4UK
Thanks for a fine contest. Special thanks to the mobiles, especially N9KS
and K9DAF - K5ME
Enjoyed the party but WI needs more HF stations in the event. I guess most
are on 2M or 10M, with lots of short distance QSOs. GL and hope C U all in
97 - W5NR
Just wanted you to know I participated. I'm trying to participate more in CW
contests. So I'm really proud of my 8 contacts - a beginning for me. Wish I
had started earlier on 40 CW - next year - KE6GTR
Sorry I could not put in more time! I was in/out of the shack doing
honey-do-its - W6UQF
Got home late from the swapfest since I was liason for exams. It was too late
to try Lapham Peak on 146.52 but I will be interested to know if anyone else
took my suggestion - AA7CS
Nice contest. I thought there was nice activity for the duration - AB7GM
QRP - YES but they were quality contacts - AB7JX/QRP
Thanks for the QSO party. I had fun and didn't know this would be such a
successful contest. See you all next year - KK7K
Had a great time. Wish I could've had more time for the contest. C U in
the WA test - W7OM
My vote for "favorite rover" goes to N9KS - I wokred him from 11 different
counties on 40M - AF8A
Thanks for a fun Sunday - KJ8J
One of these years I'll snag Menomonee, Florence and Iron counties - N8NCV
First state QSO party I have been in for a while. Really enjoyed it. I
especially liked the 7 hour format. Long enough to spend some time on each
band. My abbreviations didn't always match what was being sent - maybe the
sponsors can come up with an official county abr list and post it on the
internet ( ed note - WE HAVE AND IT IS ) - WA8YRS
Good test agn, tnx to WA1UJU for logging program - much nicer than by hand
- C U next year - AA9AO
Great fun again !!... and, yes, N9CZM you'll get your pound of brats for
giving me Bayfield County - AA9BJ
Enjoyed the contest - it is one of the best - not too long. I intend to work
all WI counties some day! C U next year - K9DIY
Had a great time but did have a bit of trouble between my "rusty" CW and the
frost heaves in the roads - K9DZG mobile
Conditions were pretty poor and must have been bad all over. 40M CW stations
were crowded together so much that it took a lot of patience ( and a good
filter ) to separate them! worked more multipliers than ever before from New
York state, including a few counties I have never heard on before - NS9E
Enjoyed the party - thanks - WA9ENA
Of all the WI stations on for the QSO party - why can't they check the
Wisconsin phone and CW nets -sure would be nice if they would - K9FHI
In Oct 95 Art and I operated mobile in the ILL QSO party. we made 7 counties.
The participation in that contest was very poor. I was disappointed for a
state that has many more amateurs than Wisconsin. The WI QSO party always has
good participation and is a a contest that lasts just the right amount of time.
Thanks for another fun contest. Thanks to all the mobiles for the multipliers
- N9FVN
Had fun in this years QSO party. Decided to do the contest a little
differently - I ran QRP. Had a lot of fun with the Index Labs QRP plus - WD9IAB
Gets harder every year ! Can't be getting older?? Fun going mobile but darn
hard to log. Gotta get the wife interested - N9JUU
Enjoyed the QSO party - most of my Qs were on 2M FM - 146.52 is a mad house -
can we do anything to encourage the use of other 2M FM frequencies - KA9JCP
I thought for sure you guys had a QRP class. Was running 5W the whole day.
How about having one next year - AE9K
This was the best one yet. We saw and worked more mobiles than ever before.
The Fox Valley was wild on 2 meters. Thanks to all for their QSOs - N9KS mobile
Thanks for sponsoring another great party - K9LGU
I was very grateful to receive the beautiful plaque and cheese last year.
Thank you - K9OM
This is a good contest for those of us with low antennas. Plenty of action
without power and towers - K9OSH
I could not get my logging program to recognize the mobile stations correctly.
They show up as dupes on the print out. Had fun - AA9MP
This was the first "mobile" contest any of us worked, took a while to get out
of Columbia County, but perserverance saw us thru. Amazingly, Murphy did not
raise his ugly head - KF9SJ
This was one of the best QSO parties for me. Lots of fun! Everyone should
have PEPIN County in the log. See you next year - KB9S
Back in the WIQP after a years absence. Still the most fun you can have with
a radio in 7 hours. Thanks to the mobiles for putting on the rare counties.
Maybe we will have sunspots next year - W9XT
Had lots of fun operating and was glad to provide the first Nebraska contact
for many of the contestants. I was an active member of WARAC back in the
early 60's when I was licensed as WN9IAT and then WA9IAT. I remember
operating CW in a few Field Days back then. I'm looking forward to next years
contest - AE0Y ( Bob Arndt )
Hope we gave some WI stations a new multiplier, C U agn next year - VE3WZ
