A typical electronic entry consists of three basic parts - an information section, a scoring section and the actual QSO data section. A format similar to this has been in use for a number of years, and is known as the “Cabrillo” format. There is no standard Cabrillo format, only various versions. Many contest sponsors ask that electronic entries be in a similar format. As sponsor of the Wisconsin QSO Party (WIQP) for many years, the West Allis Radio Amateur Club also asks that a log submitted sort of follows the text file format that Cabrillo generates. This allows for easy processing, as each piece of QSO data information is in the same spot in each line, for a specific log. Most logging programs will save a log in a type of Cabrillo format to save you the trouble.
