I am planning to operate
Full Time during the WIQP from my cabin in FOREST County, EN55sn.
Equipment will be an
FT-2000 at 100W and an 80m Carolina Windom, running East-West, at 35
feet. Right now the plan is to operate 40 SSB and maybe some CW. At
this point I am very much open to suggestions.
My wife and I will be operating portable from Washburn County (WSB) the entire contest. Mainly SSB on 20m and 40m with some CW possibly toward end of contest on 40m.
W9WJM will be the callsign used with W9WJM and KB9DFE operators.
I'll be doing my usual 18 county NW block with driver W0TVD. Here is the schedule:
Times in CDST:
05:50 PRI (AGAIN)
Many back roads so +/- 5-10 minutes. Should be usual fun event. Hope for good wx!
I'm also on CHC, will I'll always sign N0IJ/county, and am on aprs n0ij-9
We will operate 17 counties as KD9CSI, starting in Outagamie and working towards Brown. Then down I-43 to Milwaukee, turning west to Madison and then back up highway 151 towards Fond du Lac. We'll turn towards Ripon and work a few counties before returning back to Appleton. Our operators will be on voice for 20m, 40m and 146.55 MHz. Around 5 pm, we will move one rig to 75 meters. For anyone who can work 70cm, we can also complete a QSO on 446.025 MHz after working you on 2m. APRS will be KD9CSI-6.
K9APW - (Change from previously published plan)
The earlier announced plans for Dan, K9IBM, and Dick, K9APW, to activate 14 south west and west central Wisconsin counties for the contest have been canceled due to unplanned events.
Instead of being a mobile operation, we may still simply set up a portable operation from Iowa county -- again, plans are a bit indefinite but most hoped for!!
See you on the air, hopefully, from Blue Mound State Park in Iowa County --
NE9U, KK9K, and N9BCA will be out mobile in the WQP this Sunday 1800Z- 0100Z. (Remember...daylight savings time kicks in this Sunday....contest is 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDST)
Since we aren't too imaginative, we will run the same route as last year!
Plans call for starting from my up North cabin in Florence County.
Here are the approximate times for hitting each County line based on last year (Past performance is not indicative of future results!)...but its as good as we have!
Sent from my IBM 700
WB9TFF and WB9TFH
Donna WB9TFF and I WB9TFH will be mobile in the WIQP.
She and I will call with our call, so you can work us both.
Route may change, right now counties,
Ozaukee is semi-rare so most of our time there.
Bands; 20m, 40m, and 80m, SSB using 2 Hamsticks on each of the rear truck doors and A/B switch.
We plan to make a least 12 Q's in each county for the bonus points before parking in Ozaukee for the rest of the WIQP.
Gil VB -- WB9TFH --
K9TIT will once again be mobile for the WI QSO Party this year.
We will have three operators, Tim KC9FSH, Andy KC9IZF and Nate AB9TE. The plan right now is to attempt two HF stations, primarily on 20m and 40m SSB however band choice may change. We will also have a 2m/440 station that we will make contacts on however the main focus will be on HF.
The counties will be the following:
Ozaukee (Depending on time)
Washington (Depending on time)
Fond du Lac
Waupaca (Depending on time)
We typically alter our route as we run but we will for sure operate from the counties that are not listed as depending on time.
Operating as K9TIT
Hello Everyone--I am on the move again!! This time I will be operating from Green Lake County (GRL). I have picked a motel in Princeton at the junction of State Roads 23 and 73 (Acorn Ridge Motel).
I will have two different OCFD antennas strung between trees. I will probably start on 20 meters and then 40 and 75 (all SSB mode). I will have a rig monitoring 146.55 MHz--FM. Any of the rovers that are close, give me a call.
Good luck to all. Most of all have fun.
